Dead Plants Society hosts private events for teams, offices, and friend groups who want something better than another happy hour. Every event mixes play, plants, and real conversation, and everyone goes home with something growing.

Events we host

Plant game nights for teams. Our signature format. Part trivia, part chance. Your cards are full of strange and wonderful plants. We read the clues, your group guesses, and winners pick live plants from the prize table. Funny, a little competitive, and surprisingly educational.

Themed game nights. Like Biters & Baddies, our night of carnivorous, creepy, and unusual plants. We can build a theme around your group, your season, or your occasion.

Something custom. Office celebrations, birthdays, showers, retreats, client appreciation. Tell us what you're imagining.

Built by a facilitator, not just a host

Dead Plants Society is run by Stephanie Redding: former Director of Leadership Development at HubSpot, certified executive coach, and a teacher with 25 years of experience designing learning for adults. She knows how groups work: how to get the quiet people talking, how to mix teams that don't usually mix, and how to make an event feel easy for everyone.

That's why our events work so well for teams. Under the fun, we're quietly doing what good team experiences do: building trust, sparking laughter, and giving people a shared story to talk about on Monday. And because our whole philosophy is that dead plants are just data, there's no pressure to be good at anything. Failure is part of the fun.

How it works

  1. Tell us about your group. Fill out the form below with your date, group size, and what you're hoping for.

  2. We'll talk. A short call to understand your group and shape the right event.

  3. You get a proposal. Format, location, timing, and price, all in one place.

  4. Reserve your date. A 50% deposit holds your date. The balance is due 48 hours before your event.

  5. Show up and play. We bring everything: games, plants, prizes, and setup.

The details

  • Group size: 8 to 40 guests

  • Length: most events run 90 minutes to 2 hours

  • Location: your office or a venue of your choice within about 15 minutes of North Austin, or one of our partner venues

  • Pricing: private events start at $500. Every proposal is quoted for your group, with no surprise fees.

  • Kids: family friendly versions available

Questions people ask

Do we need to know anything about plants?
Not a thing. Most of our guests have killed a plant or two. That's the point.

Can you come to our office?
Yes. We bring everything and need only a room, tables, and chairs.

What if our date changes?
Life happens. You can reschedule once at no charge with at least 14 days' notice, as long as the new date is within six months. With less than 14 days' notice, your deposit moves to a new date within 90 days. If you cancel 30 or more days before your event, we'll refund your deposit. Inside 30 days the deposit is nonrefundable, because we've already sourced plants and prepared your event. If we ever have to cancel, you choose a full refund or a new date.

Is it accessible?
Our games work seated or standing. Tell us about your group's needs and we'll plan around them.
